Interview: The Cyrkle’s Don Dannemann

By Caleb Burkholder

The Cyrkle, originally known as The Rhondells, were a folksy-pop group from the 60s’ who had several hits during that time such as “Red Rubber Ball” and “Turn Down Day.” They are most known for opening the Beatles during their American tour in the Summer of 1966. From Dodgers Stadium all the way to Candlestick Park, they played alongside the Fab Four, and technically opened for them on one occasion. Join me as I sit down with Don Dannemann, one of the founding members of The Cyrkle, as we talk about their origins, the experience of opening for The Beatles, their experiences with the legendary music manager, Brian Epstein, and their new album “Revival.”
